It’s the first day of spring today, so a timely post (that I forgot to do before) of La Primavera’s route this coming Sunday. There are some cosmetic changes this year, but the big one – an extra climb that would have eliminated the likes of Mark Cavendish – has been postponed for another year because of landslides, or the threat of them, or something.
This is the first, and longest, of the Spring Classics, so it is our duty to plug into Eurosport (or Rai, or someone else) this Sunday afternoon.
And if you like what you see, there’s a 296 km Gran Fondo with your name on in June. Let me know how it turns out.
First day of spring and it’s -11C here. Nice to know it’s spring somewhere in the world!
Well, it’s raining here, but I guess that’s par for the course. Hope you get over that winter thing soon.
Sat at an outdoor cafe for coffee and croissant in 21C temp. Then did a 60km bike ride and finished with a beer in a Biergarten (this ride in Germany). My kind of spring. But like you Gerry, rain today, and looks like rest of the week with 10ish temps. Brrrrrr. By the way, there was a pic at the top of this page -shadow of the aqueduct, outside of Nîme isn’t it? Amazing structure.
That’s the Pont du Gard, so yep, the one near home. I used to ride across it pretty often, till they started charging bikes for entering. Your day in Germany sounds perfect. I can taste the weizenbier from here!
