Mont Ventoux: A Day in the Life (video)

Here’s a little something 44|5 Cycling Tours have been working on this season. Hope you like it. Special thanks to my video-editor wife, Shoko, for skipping class to get this done!

  1. Very nicely done. I don’t know if I’ll ever climb Ventoux, but I do know who I’ll call if I decide to give it a go. As I was climbing a short but steep hill – about 8% grade for half a mile – I thought, “I’d need to do this for 14km to get up Ventoux, with a few slight breaks.” A sobering thought.

    • Once the tough stuff starts there is exactly one break – the parking lot of Chalet Reynard. But nothing you couldn’t get up, Steve. Next time you’re in the UK, pop on down!

      • A stop at Chalet Reynard will be an absolute requirement for me. Perhaps an overnight to rest up as well! Well, maybe not an overnight, but plenty of “reflective periods” for sure. I also would require an extended break at the Simpson Memorial and perhaps a few other breaks to observe interesting sights, odd rocks, or peculiar insects. You get my drift! 🙂
