This year’s Paris-Nice will have no time trials or mountain finishes (not even the finish on Col d’Eze, unfortunately), making it a very different-looking race than in previous years. There are climbs, no question, but it could be a stage race for the rouleurs.
Shoko and I will try and get over there for our near-annual pilgrimage. Luckily this year’s race is the week after my birthday (Mar 9-16), so the chance of a repeat of The Great Hangover of 2012 is a little less.
Doesn’t this route pretty much make Simon Gerrans a near cert to win based on his Town Down Under form? Failing that it’d be nice to see Boasson Hagen deliver on all that potential!
I’d be happy to see either of those guys win. Both deserve it.
