Some of you might not know that the cycling world’s worst-kept secret is going to be revealed in two days. Yep, the 2014 Tour de France route announcement is taking place, as it always does, at the Palais de Congrès in Paris this Wednesday. I can’t find a time, but it is usually around 11 am local time.
Most of the route is widely known already, at least for those who are geek enough to search out the rumors (guilty as charged). What is officially known is the Grand Départ – in Yorkshire, England.
To see your favorite riders dressed in something other than lycra, brush up on your French, and watch that cool fly-over video they always have, visit the Tour de France site Wednesday morning.
Looks like you might be happy with Stage 15 this year. I read all the rumors as well (and all the work Paddy Sweeney researches and collects at http://www.velopeloton.com/2014_tour_de_france_route.html). With all the time in England, Belgium, and Germany this year, they’ll have little time left for France.
Oh, who’s going to Germany this year? It can only be the Vuelta, I guess. Yes, very happy about Stage 15.
We must have patience until Wednesday to know for sure, but it looks like the Tour might be visiting 4 countries this year. And will start in The Netherlands in 2015. They are going for huge crowds it seems. Are you going to Stage 15 this year – to again capture your 3 1/2 minutes of video coverage (that was classic).
We might have to go and watch since it’s nearly on our doorstep.
I think you should. Looks like a short train ride.
I was thinking of cycling down!!!
