This is the question my latest helpful Sram email asked me just now? Here is Sram’s checklist:
- Check the App. After giving your bike a little shake, your app should give you a green light to ride. If it doesn’t, tap on the app and it’ll tell you which components you forgot to charge.
- Connect the app to your bike computer.
- Pack a spare battery.
- Monitor your controller batteries (the little disc ones that power your shifters).
I guess you should probably take a look at the tires, too, but they aren’t on this modern list. I must admit that I am happy with my Sram AXS, but I can’t help feeling like I’ve fallen into a dark, techno-hole that I’ll never get out of.
JFK famously stated that “Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of riding a bike”. This might be even truer today because the pre-ride part is so fraught with stress….as long as you don’t forget your heart rate monitor, of course. Then your ride is shot, too.
Good advice. Saving this for July!!
Bienvenue en France, Eric!
I like to keep it simple
“… we do these things not because they are easy, but because they are hard…”
Building character, etc
Hard to remember maybe
Sometimes I am very pleased to be several decades behind the times.
You are good right where you are, TP.
The electronic age is upon us, but I’ll stick with a 2002ish pre electronic bike thanks
This one gave me a good breakfast chuckle. Thank you.
I feel I may be reaching peak cranky.
