High Altitude Training: Worked for Victor

I had actually been thinking about this before TMB, since I was at altitude a little by chance the week before (Col de la Bonette, Col de la Cayolle) the event, but then it comes out that Victor Campenaerts had spent 9 weeks in the Sierra Nevadas at altitude to train for the Tour (winning a stage perhaps because of it), so I’m working out a plan to get myself high up next year before I do whatever even I end up aiming for.

This, added to my new ibuprofen regime, will make me indestructible!

By the way, if you ever get the chance to see Victor’s interview after the stage, do it. His accent/voice/vocabulary (e.g. my ‘highly-pregnant’ girlfriend) makes you want to sit down for a beer with the guy…at altitude, of course.
