I’ve been crossing the Rhone River nearly every day for a month now, but tours are slowing down a little, meaning I have no good excuses to use anymore to justify my lack of training and weight loss.

But I have been riding. In the 5 weeks since my last training update I’ve climbed over 22,000 meters and spent 70 hours on the bike (including a week off when my siblings came to visit). Nearly all of those hours and meters were riding with clients, though, so I’m not sure how useful they will be for TMB. If you are a client, I’m not complaining, by the way!

June is different from May. I’ve got no actual tours at all – just a bunch of guided rides with a client who is staying near Ventoux – so this will be the four weeks that determine whether I use my hotel room in Les Saisies or not. I’ve still got 5 kg to lose and a whole lot of riding to do before I make that decision, hence the drastic decision to have a Dry(ish) June.
Focusing on riding again will also quickly tell me if the riding I did in May was good, bad or ugly in terms of training. For now it’s a mystery.

Wish me luck and do a cool-weather dance for me while you’re at it. The meteo has been ideal so far this year, but a good canicule will go a distance in wrecking my 10-hr ride plans.

Corner in Malaucène? Doing the weather dance for you brother. You got this.
That’s the one, Sam!
Gerry! I’m just getting to this post after returning from CA. I am hopeful that the month is treating you well!! I know you can do it!!
The weight is dripping off and the legs are feeling good. Maybe not TMB good, but good! Thanks, Eric!
