Here’s a simple little documentary that I came across last night. If we’re as lucky as Benjamin Piovesan, most of us have many more years of cycling left in us.
It turns out that the video above is not the first one that Benjamin’s filmmaker grandson (Florent) made of him. Here’s the first one he did when Benjamin was only 80!
Fabuleux
It brought back a lot of memories for me, especially meeting all those retired cyclists at cafe stops over ten years of cycling in France and the wonderful conversations we use to have. Ca me manque!
Yeah, there’s nothing quite like the cycling atmosphere here.
What a lovely story, lovely family, lovely man. Warms the heart. Where is that area? Looks like nice quiet roads. Near you?
The film says ‘Isere’, which is not far from here and the department that Alpe d’Huez is in, He must live somewhere near Lyon or Valence, given the terrain. I agree, it looks like a nice place to ride.
Excellent videos – I feel like he could be in my local club
A little long in the tooth, your comrades in the club?
Average age of most clubs in this area is probably mid 60s with many over 70 and 80
