A few days ago this photo scrolled by on Facebook and I suddenly found myself starting a folder on my desktop named ‘New Bike Build’.
This is a bike that Darren Crisp is building in his workshop in Tuscany. He has been making beautiful titanium bikes since the 90s and for more than two decades now in Italy (he’s from Texas). I’ve written about him before here and I was in touch with him before finally deciding on the Colnago, nearly 10 years ago.
I found our old email thread from back then and whipped him off a message a couple of days ago. If he thinks I’m worthy, I’ll send him €500 to get put in the queue…then I have somewhere between 1.5 and 2 years to find the money.
