Today’s stage from Meribel to La Roche-sur-Foron could be a great one to watch, or it could be a recovery day for the top ten GC guys after that killer last climb to the Col de la Loze yesterday. The riders will decide about the racing, but it will be hard to rest the legs with the following climbs on the bill:

All the photos above were taken on our 2017 HighRoad Northern Alps tour, but we were more sensible that the pros and did these 4 cols over 2 days. And that’s not even all the climbs on the agenda today – there are two more including a short one that is tantalizingly close to the last descent to the finish line.

I don’t know, is this one for a breakaway? Will #3 ‘superman’ Lopez try and eke out 30 seconds on Pog and take over #2? Will Richie Porte finally get out of his big ring and spin for the win?
For helicopter shots today, look for Mont Blanc (while it’s still white) if it’s not shrouded in clouds like usual.
The scenery was fantastic and the racing was good too.
It’s been a good Tour this year for both. But maybe I say that because I’ve been watching 5 hours a day of it!
That helps.
