Sidi: The Shoe You Can Renew

My old Sidi shoes aren’t the lightest footwear on the road and I’ve had to cut off the tongues to get them to fit me properly (a problem recently fixed according to my LBS), but they are solid things that I can wear all day long.

Sidis are also well known for their potentially long life span due to the fact that you can pretty much replace every moving bit and piece on the shoe, from ratchet to ankle strap. Below is an operation I performed just now that I guess I’ve done every two years or so – replacing the plastic vent cover and the heel plate. I now have new shoes for the summer and I might even be a little taller to boot.
