Cycling Languedoc just guided its 2nd successful Ventoux Triple of the year and I brought the good camera out for the ride. The mountain was in fine form (1 degree celcius at the summit with 90+ kph winds) and I thought you might enjoy a picturesque post, sans too much drivel, for a change.
It certainly doesn’t look very inviting for such a popular spot.
It wasn’t very popular yesterday.
Now that’s cold right there… Passes wind chill and goes right to holy crap!
Gets into the bones, too. The 30+ min descents are the worst.
I can imagine. I ride in some cold weather (-2 to -5 C max) but down a mountain? Ouch.
With weather like that, why ride up once when you can ride up three times:-)
Exactly!
I just spotted the pic of Tom Simson. Do they take it down or had it been knocked over by winds during the winter?
Knocked down, Jules. Not sure if it was the snow or the wind, though.
