Dressing for Winter, Begging for Spring

I know I shouldn’t complain, and I’m not really. I do live in the south of France and there is no snow here, unlike the rest of the country, but I’m getting tired of winter. This is one reason why.

And another…

These are the clothes I need to layer myself with to ride in the cold – a far cry from the tight shorts and singlet of summer. Then again, it’s also a far cry from the Stay-puft Man duds I’d be wearing if I was still living in Canada.

Despite the cold I had an excellent ride today, following mostly familiar roads up north, but connecting those with some more to the west of the city. I took a little detour through the locally-famous vineyards of St Georges d’Orques (that’s right, pronounced ‘dork’), which was quite nice, but I took no photos.

Here are a couple of others I took before the clouds rolled in and took stopping off the agenda!
