Today’s ride had not much new in it, having been up and back on the main roads a few times. But I decided to take a little detour north on a dead-end road that ended in Lirou, a bad joke of a village (I only saw one building), but a really lovely spot, surrounded by vineyards, and totally silent. All this only 20 km from home. Here’s that one building – a winery by the smell of it.
And what surrounded it…
On the way back I stopped in Guzargues, just down the road, to take a look at their very cute central square and tiny Romanesque (I think) church.
Stay tuned for another Roman bridge. If I have the time and energy I’ll take the train up to Lunel tomorrow (on the border of Gard) and check out some ruins there, and ride back home from there.
