New Bike Build: Frame Complete

Darren emailed me this the morning and sent a few pictures over of my custom designed, welded, sanded, and graphic-ed frame. He’s now waiting for the wheels and groupset that I’ve ordered to arrive, but the bulk of his work is done and I’ve got myself a new titanium frameset – albeit sitting in the hills of Tuscany.

You’ll see that I landed on a no-color color, since I couldn’t decide on one. It’s best to be discrete with these things anyway, especially if I need to park it outside a cafe once in a while. The one bit of color is the blurry photo you see top left, which is my name in Morse Code (a Crisp specialty) and it’s under the top tube, i.e. invisible unless I run over you.

The coordinates on top of the top tube are of the house I spent my first 10 years, in Quebec, and the road at the front of the tube is a stylized version of the road that ran past it – a road I often dreamed of riding away on.

And look at that beautiful welding!

  1. That is a beauty! I am getting in touch with Darren before everyone else reading this blog jumps in with an order πŸ™‚

  2. Well worth the wait Gerry. Can hardly wait to see this beautiful machine this August. Love the personal but subtle touchs.
