I sometimes contemplate odd things when I’m on the bike. Today I was thinking about the number of bananas in my fruit bowl. Like I said…
Why I had a banana on the brain was because I was thinking that, when I don’t ride very much, the bunch of bananas in my bowl doesn’t disappear. Two weeks ago I noticed this and forced myself to eat them while standing up instead of riding. This week is faring much better.

Only one. This is a good sign. There are probably a multitude of signs that tell me if I’ve been riding or not, so I’ll add one more:

Kit in the washing machine. I actually have two sets in there waiting to go. This is good also.
Must make this short. Need to go buy some bananas…
Bananas freeze beautifully and then you can use them in smoothies, chutney, banana bread and all manner of goodies. Just check out the recipes in “The Musette” on my blog.
I will do that, but if I have old bananas, I have bigger problems…I’m not on the bike 😉 I do love a good banana bread, though…
The older they are, the sweeter they are. Just freeze ‘em.
I quite agree with your banana gauge. I am off the bike at the moment, and I am having to eat quite a few surplus bananas before they go brown.
I think Sheree has the right idea. Banana bread is the answer.
