I found myself on Strava Labs this morning, seeing what they are up to these days, and clicked on something called The Roster. The Roster simply tells you who you’ve ridden with the most over the past few years, then calls you a ‘social butterfly’ or ‘lone wolf’, as the case may be.

Without much surprise, I’m the latter, having ridden 672 hours on my own in the past 3 years and 336 hours with others (nearly all clients). A little surprisingly, my main buddy on rides is actually a client. We’ve ridden nearly 150 hours together in the same time period (hopefully he doesn’t get the calculator out to figure out how much that has cost him!). Number two used to be my number one: ex-colleague John; and rounding out the podium is another client and old friend, Rich (50 hours).
If you are logged into Strava, it’s just a couple of clicks to access this data. I’d be interested to know what Strava calls you, Dear Reader.
AWOL 🙈🤣
fat
This should come as no surprise: Lone Wolf
3 days with others (14%)
Those days were last year with 44|5 on the Cévennes Tour, including your top partner.
18 days going it alone (86%)
Given I’ve been following you on Strava for some time, no, not a surprise! Honored that 44|5 is your best riding buddy 😉
hmm, also lone wolf, but 49/51. And 16 days with my main cycling buddy
I think Strava needs to add a few other monikers. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of nuance here.
Interesting! I’ve not ever tried Strava Labs. I may have to jump in when I have a moment and check it out. I am very likely a Lone Wolf also…
Apparently the Lone Wolf bar is set pretty low. Happy to have you join the club!
